Cory Sipper started performing her own songs when she was thirteen years old.  At 19 years old, after a brief stint at the Berklee College of Music, she began releasing her own albums.  She quickly caught the ears of the music industry and in 1994 she signed a publishing contract with Windswept Pacific and soon after a record contract with an up and coming independent label called Nu Millenia.  Halfway through recording her first national release with producer Richard Dashut (of Fleetwood Mac “Rumors” fame), Sipper’s record company went bankrupt.  In typical music industry style, the publishing company then jumped ship as well leaving Cory to dust herself off, grab her acoustic guitar and re-record her new album on her own label.

Meanwhile, a previous Sipper album (Swimology) was released in Japan and the single “Nervous” became an overnight sensation.  Cory toured Japan playing dates on her own and opening for rock legend Steve Lukather (Toto).

Back in The States, Cory released her third CD Orbiter and toured nationally on her own as well as opening for artists such as The Samples, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Dan Fogelberg.

Sipper’s fourth album “Sincerely” was released to critical acclaim. Recorded in her home town of Santa Barbara, CA., Sincerely was produced and engineered (once again) by the musically brilliant Bruce Winter. (Winter has since scored music for film and TV including the movie Run Lola Run and the popular TV series Deadwood.)

In 2005, disenchanted with touring and eager to start a family, Cory took a break from writing and performing though she continued to license her songs to motion pictures, television and other artists.  Her song Shut Us Down was performed by Lindsey Buckingham in the Cameron Crowe movie Elizabethtown was featured on that movie’s motion picture soundtrack as well as on a live DVD of Buckingham’s as well as his 2006 solo album.

Cory’s songs have appeared in a plethora of primetime and cable television shows including: One Tree Hill, Jack and Bobby, As the World Turns, Los Vegas, The Ashlee Simpson Show and many, many others.  Cory has sung on several national commercials including being the voice of Kay Jewelers in 2005 and 2006.

Presently Cory lives happily with her husband and two children on what she calls a “mini-farm” complete with chickens, ducks and dogs.  She is currently writing new songs and looks forward to recording a new album in the not-so-distant future. In March of 2011, Cory played live again (for the first time in 5 years) in her hometown of Santa Barbara, CA. She is currently back in business singing her heartfelt tunes which stand the test of time.   And that, her fans attest, is a very good thing.

Rolling Stone calls Cory's Shut Us Down the "standout track" on the "Elizabethtown" major motion picture soundtrack!!!!!
